Pain after laparoscopy
Hello doctor, I had laparoscopic surgery done for right dermoid ovarian cyst in October. I still experience some pain at the surgical site occassionally especially after physical exertion. Is it normal? Thank you in advance.

If pain is mild, it should reduce in a few days.If not, get an ultrasound scan done.

Pain is a subjective feeling and perception. So not much can be said about this symptom. Our job is to see that there should be no evidence of infection. The stitches should have been removed/ dissolved . There should be no swelling and redness . Apart from this if the patient still complains of pain, she can always have some painkillers. But we also tell the patient that if she has stomach irritation due to painkillers , then she should know that she asked for it. Having pain six months after any Surgery  ( laparoscopic or open) is certainly not normal. It should have a reason.
