Opposite side Paralysis puts lot of load on the normal side. She might have developed Meniscal tear. If the pain is significant or there is swelling or locking the consider doing MRI
I would like to know, whether they bear weight over the paralyzed limb. Treatment plan will change totally with proper history. So I suggest to consult me and discuss details.
Get an weight bearing x-ray of both knees done. She must be suffering from osteoarthritis.
Take some anti-inflammatory
Hot packs
Knee cap
Local voveron gel
Avoid sitting cross legged.
This can be due to multiple things. Need a few more details.
Next Steps
Is she able to bear weight on the affected leg? Is she able to bend/ straighten the knee? Any swelling associated with pain? Any fever?
Please repost with these details.
If there is not obvious history of trauma, any fractures or acute tears can be ruled out. More history regarding the pain are required to get to know the nature of the pain. Sometimes prolonged immobilisation lead to contractures and reduced mobility. Forcing a joint beyond the new range of motion can lead to pain.
If the pain is not too severe and short lasting, there's nothing to worry about and it might resolve spontaneously with or without medication.
Next Steps
Ice application
tab. Dolo 650 (SOS)- Only when the pain is more
