Treatment of oral cancer depends upon the type of cancer, location, stage and patient fitness. For early stage generally surgery is preferred. At certain locations and for bigger tumors, radiation is used with addition of chemotherapy or targeted therapy. For advanced or spread out cancer, usually only chemotherapy or immunotherapy or targeted therapy or a combination is used. Further treatment options depend upon the response to previous therapies. Hope this helps
