I have second primary cancer squamous cell of carcinoma in jaw. I had 1st primary cancer in my tongue operated in 2013. Doctor told me this is not related my 1st cancer . Doctor suggest for removing less than half of jaw. Is this a major surgery. After operation Trechstoma and breathing from neck is must .what type of immediate problems can arise after operate. Any questions we need to ask from my doctor is it still curable

If the doctor has said it's operable, get it done asap. And ask him for reconstruction of the new jaw with a fibula graft. We do that regularly in Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune. And yes the tracheostomy may be required but it's for your own safety. It's a temporary measure for 4 to 5 days after surgery and later closed. It is a curable cancer.
