Main difference is that OCD is a disorder with an onset usually in teens with clear obsessions and compulsions which are distressing to the individual, whereas in OCPD, there is a perfectionist way of doing things leading to slowness and pedantry and this is a lifelong issue. Treatment plans are usually completely different unless the person has both OCD and OCPD.
