I live in a different city and my mother lives on her own. She is so obsessed about cleaning that she mops the house 2 times and if food has been consumed that place gets cleaned even more number of times. If some guest sits on a divan, she would clean the sheets. At time she gets angry and anxious if people say they are coming. She hardly gets time to spend with us. She doesn't allow anyone to enter in the kitchen thinking we could cross contaminate. She washes utensils with too much water and soap. She always lives in the fear of dirt and water supply getting over. We have hardly come across such situations but she would hold pails of water just in case. This has lead to a poor health where she neglects cooking, eating, social interaction or even relationships. I can go on on this, however can you please confirm if this type of behaviour falls in the category of OCD.
