Ocd ruined my life
Obsessive compulsive disorder has ruined my life. It has taken over my life. I don't know what to do. Have been to so many psychiatrists but did not find any help.Took medicines but no real theraphy. I read deep brain stimulation can help in it. May be I need to have that. I avoid nearly everything . I don't even leave house due to extreme fears cause of by this horrible horrible disorder. When I say I don't leave house, I don't mean i go 1 hour . I stay at home for weeks many times without even going out for 1 minute. So many other symptoms. Mostly intrusive thoughts. Many people think ocd is about cleanliness or perfection, but its way more than that. Can cause thoughts and fears. And I dislike when people casually say " I am so ocd" its become a urban cliche which bothers me because its a terrible disorder but people thinks its something cool .Also suffered from other problems like Trichotillomania and have ocd since childdhood.Different symptoms and types but have for long time.

Hello It must be tough to be battling so many issues and I understand you have tried many modalities of treatment. DBS is a last resort treatment and I feel that still a full trial of medication plus therapy may not have been tried upon you There are other non invasive modalities like rtms and tdcs which are options. However they are in addition to the previous two modalities (medication plus therapy) mentioned and used in resistant cases.
Next Steps
A re evaluation and fresh pair of eyes may help. Meanwhile try to engage yourself in some basic routine.
Health Tips
Preferably speak with a psychiatrist who would engage in therapy too.
