Sir my psychiatrist prescribe me Psyvoxin 50 mg (Fluvoxamine50) at morning and night.Half tablet of Syconil 25 (clomipramine) at night. Everything thing was fine.Oneday I replace only syconil 25mg with clonil 25 mg.Beacause syconil was not available... I feel that clonil 25 is different from syconil 25. Clonil 25 was not working as syconil 25 but both having same salt clomipramine 25 Is amount of active ingredient clomipramine is same in syconil and clonil Why I feel difference when I use clonil instead of syconil???

1. Syconil25 and clonil25 both contain same ingredient clomipramine 25 mg. 2. Many of my patients tell me similar things when brand names are changed. It could be due to many reasons. Manufacturer may use different excipient to make the tablet. You may find one better over the other. Also there could be psychological effect of changing the brand.

Rarely a manufacturing process or source of raw material needed for producing a drug molecule differ from company to company. But I must mention that Clonil is also a well known brand than syconil and it is proven to be very effacious in clinical practices since many years. It might be that psychology is playing a role in your perceived effects.  Usually in OCD disorder, some thoughts may get amplified and reccurring that may be happening with you this time like the newer brand  is not being effective etc which might make it perceive that way, that you are not getting the same effect. No worries, you can continue the medications. And still if you want the previous one, you can anytime shift to that one. At theorotical level, both are similar.
