About the side-effects. I think initially people do have some effects of it but then it gets settled down so you have to talk about that to Psychiatrist about a better alternative alternative as always cognitive behaviour, therapy or series. All about fear it is making you do things out of fear and which causes you anxiety if you don’t do it so you have to learn to learn these behaviour and CBT teachers you just that so I do CBT for OCD I’ll be really happy to help you it will require a few sessions but you will be alright buddy take care all the best reach out.
There are lots of better alternatives. Consult your psychiatrist or anyone else either in person or online and seek remedy. Do not stick onto the medications when the side effects are more than benefits. Good luck
OCD is an anxiety spectrum disorder which has two primary symptoms- obsession followed by compulsion. Obsessions are commonly observed at thought level and compulsions in one’s behaviour to reduce the anxiety induced by obsessive thoughts.
There are various scientific advances in treatment from options available in oral medication, use of ketamine, neuromodulation and psychotherapy to name a few.
Next Steps
OCD itself is a little rigid disorder to treat and needs higher doses of medication as observed clinically to attain complete functional recovery. T. Sertraline 50 mg is quite a low dose.
Secondly if you have issues tolerating that dose, consult a psychiatrist for alternative options including Fluoxetine, Fluoxamine, Escitalopram etc with or without another augmenting agents.
Health Tips
SSRI like Sertraline or any other names mentioned above can have certain general side effects like gastric upset but they are usually temporary and can subside with antacids.
