Normal dental cleaning
I had root scaling (deep cleaning) on my right side upper and lower teeth on February this year. I saw the dentist again and he said to do normal cleaning on this side again. Is it ok to do normal cleaning after 2.5 months of deep cleaning? Or should be done after 6 months?

Ideally, scaling has to be carried out every 6momths!! Even after deep scaling, deposits can be seen after 2.5months if brushing is not done properly or if the scaling was not previously completed.
Next Steps
Consult a Periodontist.
Health Tips
Introspect on the brushing technique.

Hi! Deep scaling is done when the deposits are more. In such cases the gingiva is allowed to heal and after the residual deposits which are either left behind or pop out after treatment is cleaned by normal scaling procedure. You don't have to worry this won't damage your teeth. Yes we need to undergo professional cleaning every 6 months. But when there are many deposits and need is there, the sittings are pre scheduled.
Next Steps
Visit the dentist and carry on the procedure. He/she would know your clinical status and advise aptly!
Health Tips
Brush twice daily and rinse after every meal. Take care.
