I get frequent nightmares. Everytime I wake up screaming. Some are reoccurring. And it is becoming embarrassing because it is now happening in front of others, Whenever there is a sleepover with friends or family.

Hello practo user
I can understand the difficult situation that you are going through . It seems that there is some underlying stress either personal or professional which is aggravating and might be causing these distressing nightmares . Reoccurring nightmares are indicative of some negative past event which needs to be discussed with a mental health professional.
You can try and practice guided meditation and deep breathing before sleeping to clear your thoughts . You can also try and spend time around positive and happy family members and friends . Try and maintain a healthy sleep pattern and engage in relaxing activities before sleeping. It is advisable that you seek help from a clinical psychologist for an in-depth analysis of your case and better understanding and a treatment plan for your problems . You can also get in touch with me through the practo app for any further help or guidance.
