Hello Doctor, i am getting weekly nightfall in night. Is this normal ? Also i am getting two types of nightfall one in which i get to know in morning through some stain mark on underwear and other in which i feel in night like my penis is full and then ejaculating by moving back and forth and both these are happening without any sexual thought/dream and activity. Is there any way to stop it ? I feel very ashamed in moving in front of my parents in morning due to stain visible on paint. Also i don't change underwear instantly after having nightfall/ejaculation in night, i change it in morning while bathing. So can this can cause any infection ?

"I want to start by reassuring you that what you are experiencing is perfectly normal and a natural physiological process for a 20-year-old male. Weekly 'nightfall' (Nocturnal Emission) is simply the body's way of releasing excess seminal fluid that has accumulated. It does not require any sexual thoughts, dreams, or activity to occur. There is absolutely no reason to feel ashamed or embarrassed; it is a sign that your reproductive system and hormones are functioning as they should."
Next Steps
"Regarding your concern about infection: changing your underwear in the morning while bathing, rather than immediately at night, will not cause any infection. Seminal fluid is sterile and does not carry bacteria that could cause a skin infection in a few hours. However, maintaining general hygiene—washing with plain water and wearing clean, dry cotton underwear daily—is always recommended to keep the skin healthy."
Health Tips
"There is no medical 'cure' or need to stop nightfall because it is not a disease. In fact, trying to stop a natural process can lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety. Focus on your daily routine, exercise, and a balanced diet. If the frequency becomes very high (several times a week) and starts affecting your energy levels or sleep, then we can discuss lifestyle adjustments. For now, relax and understand that your body is just doing its job."
Hello. I have reviewed your concerns regarding nocturnal emissions.
It is very important to start by saying that what you are experiencing is a completely normal physiological process. Nocturnal emission, or "nightfall," is the body's natural way of releasing accumulated seminal fluid. It is especially common in young men and is not a sign of any underlying disease or weakness.
1. Normalcy and Frequency
Physiological Release: Just as the body produces saliva or tears, it produces semen. If it is not released through sexual activity, the body occasionally clears the "overflow" during sleep.
Variations: It is normal to sometimes sleep through it and only find a stain in the morning, while at other times being partially aware of the sensation.
Lack of Dreams: Nightfall does not always require a sexual dream or thought; it is often a purely physical response to local pressure or the body's internal clock.
2. Addressing Hygiene Concerns
Infection Risk: Waiting until your morning bath to change your clothes and wash does not cause an infection. Seminal fluid is a natural body secretion. Once it dries on fabric, it does not pose a health risk to your skin or system.
Practical Tip: To manage the "stain" and feel more confident in the morning, you might consider wearing an extra layer of loose boxers or using a small piece of tissue inside your underwear at night.
Managing the Frequency: While you cannot "stop" it entirely (nor should you need to), maintaining a regular exercise routine and avoiding heavy meals or caffeine late at night can sometimes stabilize the frequency.
You are healthy and what you are experiencing is normal. Continue with your regular morning hygiene routine.
It's completely normal ... might be caused due to hormonal imbalance or disturb sleep cycle...
So try to have a healthy routine... regular exercise, healthy diet, stress level management ..
Dont worry, this is completely normal.Nocturnal emission can happen occasionally especially in young males and it does not indicate any disease or weakness.
The two patterns you said can occur naturally due to hormonal activity even without sexual dreams.
Theres no need to feel ashamed this is a common and healthy process.
Wearing clean underwear and changing it in the morning is generally fine. It does not usually cause infection, but maintaining hygiene is always good.
If it becomes very frequent or troubling, it can be managed with simple lifestyle measures and guidance.
Hi dear,
This is a normal male sexual activity. Dont feel ashamed about it. With due course of time this will improve. Try meditation and de-stressing activities. Involve yourself in some recreational hobbies as well this helps in channelising your energies in a good way.
Try to change undergarments after ejaculation for hygiene purpose, also even if it gets delayed by few occurs it doesnt cause infection as such. Hope that helps!
Next Steps
Relax and channelise yourself in mindful techniques and re-creational activities.
Hello, what you are experiencing is completely normal for your age and does not indicate any disease or weakness. Nightfall (nocturnal emission) once a week, whether you notice it in the morning as a stain or feel it happening during sleep, is a natural way for the body to release excess semen, and it can occur even without sexual thoughts or dreams. There is no need to feel ashamed, as this is a common physiological process in many young men. Keeping good hygiene, such as changing your underwear in the morning and maintaining cleanliness of the genital area, is sufficient and does not usually lead to infection. If you feel embarrassed, you can wear thicker or darker underwear at night for comfort. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, proper sleep, and limiting excessive sexual stimulation may help reduce frequency. You only need to consult a doctor if it becomes very frequent or is associated with pain, burning, or any unusual symptoms; otherwise, no treatment is required.
Yes, this is generally normal. Nightfall (nocturnal emission) is common in young males, especially in your age group. Having it once a week is within normal limits and does not indicate any disease. It can occur with or without sexual dreams.
The two types you described — noticing stains in the morning and feeling ejaculation during sleep — both represent normal nocturnal emissions. They happen due to natural buildup of semen and hormonal activity.
Next Steps
Please consult a doctor if:
Nightfall occurs very frequently (daily)
There is burning during urination
Pain, discharge, or itching
Weakness or anxiety affecting daily life
Health Tips
Urinating before sleep
Avoiding stimulating content before bedtime
Regular physical activity
