Newborn vomiting from last 3 days.
My baby is two months old and is vomiting from past three days. I have given him Domstal five drops three times a day, but this is not helping. Now the doctor has given Nexpro Junior, but I'm scared because he's just two months old.

A 2-month-old infant with vomiting for 3 days requires prompt pediatric assessment. Persistent vomiting at this age should not be assumed to be GERD. The infant should be assessed for hydration, feeding, weight gain and red-flag features, including projectile or bilious vomiting. Remove the gas by burping ie tapping with cupped hand between shoulder blades of the baby after supporting him on the arm .if gas is not removed after each feed the baby will regurgitate

Who advised you to give Domstal in a 2 months baby? Do an ultrasound to exclude pyloric stenosis.

Never give any medications in an infant(<1 year old baby) without consulting a paediatrician.Both the medicines you've mentioned are labelled safe to use above 1 year.Kindly consult with a paediatrician at the earliest.An ultrasound of the abdomen will need to be done if there has been vomiting for the past 3 days.Surgical causes need to be ruled out before taking any trial of medicines.

Can you mention the dosage? There is nothing to be scared about because it can be given to babies in strict dosage. Vomiting for past 3 days is a serious condition. Is the vomit green/yellow coloured? Or does it have milk only?

2 months ke baby me 3 din se vomiting ko casually treat nahi karna chahiye. Feeding ke baad thoda milk spit-up normal ho sakta hai, lekin repeated/projectile vomiting, poor feeding, lethargy, fever, decreased urine output ya green-coloured vomit ho to baby ko promptly paediatrician ko dikhana zaroori hai.
Domstal (domperidone) ya Nexpra Junior jaise medicines bina paediatrician ki proper assessment/dose ke continue/start na karein. Is age me vomiting ka cause identify karna important hai.

1.) Never give any medication unless a proper evaluation has been done by your consulting doctor
2.) Make sure you’ve been following the guidelines related to breastfeeding
3.) Keep the baby in upright position for 20-30 mins, after you’ve fed.
4.) Make the baby burp midway while feeding and after it is done
The baby’s body is still adapting to the external world. Vomiting happens, if it is profuse, then you should get serious, otherwise he will adapt soon.
