Hi sir/mam,
Blood vomit occurred. X ray showed infection, my wife general doctor suggested me to take ct. CT shows cavity In lungs. Took sputum test it got failed for tb. She is currently checking regarding this.
However, I am curious so I posted to now what more test could possibly identify the root cause of the issue

Could be old healed tubercular cavity. Bleeding can occur in this cavity which will come out in cough or the cavity can become a seat of fungal infection and cause further complications including bleeding

Sputum evaluation for culture and sensitivity, fungal stain and culture and gene xpert test for tuberculosis if not done along with details of history of symptoms onset, duration, comorbidities if any ,smoking history needed for further evaluation and treatment

sputum analysis is negative then may have to go for bronchoscopy and BAL analysis

Pl do early morning sputum for Afb, and cb nat test, for 3 days.Any co morbidities. Pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken.
