Hi, my sister is having type - 1 diabetes and today tested positive for covid. Should I take her to hospital for treatment Or should I continue treatment at home. Please help me, Thank you.

Blood sugars closely monitored and kept in normal limits under guidance of physician Home quarantine for 2 weeks with monitoring the spo2 levels using pulse oximeter ,to be monitored 4-6 hrly should always be more than 94. Temperature monitoring 6 hrly Lot of fluids intake Proper protein diet Medicines as per physician s prescription To give feedback to physician on periodical basis by giving data of oxygen saturation level , temperature and blood sugar levels If any of the danger signals like spo2. below 94,high temperatures beyond 5 th day , breathlessness ,to get admitted in hospital for further examination by physician and next level of treatment.

If patient saturation and other vitals are under limit , you can isolate at home. Daily consult doctor . Take proper treatment

With doctors guidance home quarantine is ok. If not possible, hospital is a better option.
