the tooth below the bridge may have got infected with the decay due to improper placement of the bridge, so now u should get the checkup amd xray done , you may need a root canal in the teeth below the bridge. kindly visit bridgewaydental.com if in pune

Hello, This is Dr Enosh Steward Oral & Maxillofacial and facial plastic surgeon The x ray says that there is a lot of bone loss around the tooth and that is the reason why the roots of your mom's teeth have been exposed leading to more sensitivity when she uses mouth wash or drinks cold water or eat sweet.
Next Steps
if the teeth are mobile, you can go for extraction. if not, rct can be advised but by seeing the bone loss, i feel its better to extract and go for implants or any other prosthetic means

Hi, Could you explain the pain a bit more? Is this only on eating cold foods or even hot foods? Before, during or after eating? Continuous or spontaneous? In any case the xrays will reveal only so much without removing bridge since the material of bridge obstructs xrays and we cannot see under it. I do notice that the teeth are not root canal treated so maybe an infection has spread from junction of bridge and tooth to the inside of the tooth causing pain.
Next Steps
better xray, preferably after removing bridge if pain is constant
Health Tips
check if food is getting stuck between teeth even that causes pain after eating

Pain appearing 5 to 6 years after bridge placement can probably be due to gaps between the bridge and natural tooth( on which the bridge is placed). These gaps will allow saliva and bacteria to enter between the bridge and natural tooth, affecting the natural tooth and causing pain. However, there can be other reasons for the cause of pain as well. A proper X-ray will help to understand the condition better.
Next Steps
Ask your dentist for a better and clear image. With a clear image we can help you better.
Health Tips
Avoid chewing on the affected side, as it may aggravate the pain. Further treatments can be carried out to avoid the pain and continue the life of the bridge.
