It is advisable to take help from a psychiatrist or psychologist to help diagnose the problem.
Next Steps
Seek professional help. It will be decided and dependent on the diagnosis whether medicine will be needed. Though a comic ovation of psychotherapy and medicine works great. It all depends on a proper diagnosis.

Dear sir, While your attitude of being helpful to your friend is appreciable, pls dont diagnose your friend based on some of her symptoms. Pls leave that to professionals who have worked very hard in life to gain the expertise to diagnose. Borderline personality disorder is a very tough diagnosis to make. Its symptoms overlap with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance use disorder. And the treatment of BPD, if diagnosed, is a long term one with a combination of medicines and dialectical behavior therapy. My advice would be that you please take your friend to a psychiatrist and get her diagnosed and treated appropriately. This will help her lead a happy and successful life.

Hello, It is very nice to see your concern for a friend suffering from mental health issues. Such social support will go a long way in helping your friend overcome these problems. The first step to helping her would be to get a confirmatory diagnosis by visiting a competent and experienced psychiatrist. The psychiatrist will take a detailed history, interview your friend, and carry out some psychological investigation. Some blood related investigation like thyroid, haemoglobin etc may be done depending on clinical presentation. Thereafter a comprehensive plan of management can be formulated. The best approach to management of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is combination of medication and psychological intervention. However the approach can be tailored as per individual needs and preferences. The management of BPD is a long term process and it is quite difficult to comment on exact treatment duration before assessment of the person. This would depend on several variables like severity of BPD, co-morbid mental health issues, social support, participation of patient into therapy process etc. Hope this helps you... Wish you and your friend best of health and future..
Next Steps
Please consult with a psychiatrist near you for assessment and a comprehensive management subsequently.
Health Tips
di not delay consultation and treatment process. The outcome will be better if you start at an early age..

Don't define and conclude about a person. Maybe some of the symptoms resembles.  There should be some reason for her to showcase her behaviour because dhe doesn't know to handle it.
Next Steps
Do visit a Psychologist for some counselling  sessions, with which she would probably improve better and learn to cope up in live situations and events.

Hello..First of all, it is important to understand that a correct diagnosis is required for correct treatment. So get your friend a psychiatric evaluation to confirm the diagnosis. If she actually has BPD then the treatment will vary according to severity of symptoms. If she is Suicidal or has violent mood swings or becomes aggressive then initiating medication will be proper. Once she is stabilized on medication, therapy needs to be started. In case, she is not willing to go a psychiatrist, make sure that she doesn't do things to harm herself like cutting, drug abuse or harm others.
Next Steps
Psychiatric evaluation

Borderline personality disorder is a complex problem, it requires atleast one year of continuous counselling and little medications to see results, but it will be very good for her future if she takes therapy now
