My 3 month old nephew
My father keeps giving my brother's 3 month old few drops of fruit juice whenever he's himself eating a fruit. I know the baby is supposed to be only breastfed but my father says few drops won't hurt. I just want to understand if there are any consequences.

Babies should be exclusively breast fed for atleast 6 months they may get infections otherwise their immune system is not developed , it would be wise to not do such things from hence forth It would be harming your own child

Can cause diarrhea;  Can cause baby to breastfeed less often, reducing milk supply

Hello, during the first six months, it's recommended to exclusively breastfeed your baby. Occasionally giving one or two drops of fruit juice shouldn't have a significant impact, but it might lead to indigestion. The digestive system isn't fully developed to handle other foods during this time, so we advise sticking to exclusive breastfeeding until the end of six months. Thank you.
