Dear friend.if it is a minor injury then it will become alright with rest and hot fomentation. Local ointment and some pain killers. If it does not subside then it is either labral tear or rotator cuff tendon injury, depending upon your Angle at the time of lifting the weight.please consult any shoulder specialist in your area if not relieved.

Hello..I suggest you to take any muscle relaxants available or use a spray...do not strain that muscle...give it rest so that it gets relaxed... apart from that you can also use hot bag for it...even after that if not getting relieved consult an orthopaedician... thank you
For now you can do icing and apply some analgesic gel available with you.
Once your pain subsides bit Slowly start stretching and start doing strengthening exercise.
To prevent acute muscle injury always do warm up for 5 to 10 min followed by 5 to 10 minor cool down period
