Treatment of hearing loss from any cause depends on type of hearing loss. If it's neural type of hearing loss involving cochlear nerve or auditory cortex of brain then hearing aids may not be very beneficial. If it's cochlear type of hearing loss then they are beneficial. You need to get tests such as BERA and OAE
