Mouth odor
Hi, I have mouth odor for the past 6 months. I consulted a doctor and he prescribed me with chlorhexidine mouthwash. After using mouth wash, my mouth odor was under control for few months. But now, even after using it I have mouth odor. What might be the reason? What would be the solution for this?

Get your teeth cleaned by a dentist. Brush your teeth twice daily. Wash your mouth after every meals. Use tongue scrapers to clean your tongue. If there is decayed tooth, get it filled.

Dry mouth condition is called as Xerostomia.  Basically the combination of bacteria and decay caused by food produces such odor. Mouthwash will definitely help but along with that sipping on water more often shall help or even chewing sugar-free gums with xylitol can help.  Only remedy is to keep the mouth moist. There are even products that produces artificial saliva....if it's too much. Also, it's important to keep good oral hygiene in such conditions like brushing twice a day and using mouthwash.

Mouth odour can be due to multiple reasons. Very often can be a gut related matter that is presenting its self as “Halitosis”. Get a detailed dental check up and if it found to be of different Origin I would recommend you meet a general physician.
