Moderate pleural effusion
I have moderate right pleural effusion..plz tell me what are the treatment ..heart failure patient. My chest xray says: Homogeneous radio opacity with obliterated right cp angle and diaphragm are noted in right lower zone.. What will be the treatment

A pleural tapping for diagnosis ( taking out some fluid in syringe is needed ) to identify the cause

Consult a Pulmonologist.Fluid needs to be taken out for analysis to know the cause of effusion.Treatment will be based on the underlying cause.

You have to get it aspirated and pleural fluid analysis done. Only then you decide whether it is heart failure or infective due to tuberculosis. Subsequent treatment depending on aetiology of pleural effusion.

Plueral fluid analysis has to be done.Diagnosis depends up on the analysis. Pl consult pulmonologist for further evaluation and treatment.

If unilateral effusion Fluid need to be removed And treat based on pleural fluid analysis
