Hello, The new emerging problem of internet and gaming addiction is getting common in youth and adolescents. However it is also true that what might be excessive use as per parents, may well be quite normative for the individual. Hence a neutral assessment and feedback by a  a professional can bring awareness to both. The effects of such addiction can be quite severe and can affect the social functioning and education very adversely. Hence please seek a consultation with a psychiatrist near you for comprehensive assessment and management. I can tell you from scientific evidence and my professional experience that these symptoms can be improved and relieved with correct guidance and treatment. Usually a combination of medication and psychotherapy is well suited to these conditions. Hope this helps you and your son. Best wishes for your health and future.. Regards Delhi Mind Clinic
