Hello
Going through loss is really a cause of distress. Breakup from a significant relationship is a big loss, and it will definitely evoke negative emotions. There are different ways of coping for different individuals. In this case, the person has taken the help of alcohol and weed, which definitely isn't good. Try to be with him, talk to him, and make him understand that taking revenge isn't going to help otherwise also. Also, consult with a psychiatrist so that proper treatment can be started.
