Hi doctors
At what point does a person get to know if he/she needs therapy and it's not just daily cribbing and regular stress? Just asking.
Is there a stage u need to get to, or how does it work ?

Hello,
One way to decide that a problem with mental health is significant enough to seek help is to understand the distress and dysfunction it causes. Which means of the degree of distress to the individual is quite high and seems to pull you down often, you should seek help. In the case of symptoms leading to impairment in functioning in social, occupational, or personal functioning help is more likely to be required.
A visit to a psychiatrist or psychotherapist would first of all involves a comprehensive assessment, and at that stage it can well be decided that whether intervention is required or not..
Hence when in doubt, better to seek consultation for assessment..
Hope this helps you. Best wishes for your health and future..
