I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease in 2020. Initially, I only experienced dizziness, which I managed for several years without major hearing issues.
Over the past year, my condition worsened with sudden fluctuating hearing loss and constant negative pressure in my ear, described as a “blocked” sensation. This is worst in the morning and improves slightly during the day. Steroid treatment provides relief for about a week, but symptoms always return once it stops.
I underwent sinus surgery four months ago to address possible contributing factors, but there was no improvement. An attempt to insert a ventilation tube failed due to a narrow ear canal.
My hearing varies significantly — on bad days, I use a hearing aid; on better days, I don’t need it. Infections such as colds or sinus problems trigger severe flare-ups lasting up to two weeks, with increased pressure, hearing loss, and difficulty focusing. I am open to life time interventions that offer long term solution.
