Hello Doctor,
I have been suffering from Ménière's disease for the past 6 months. I have consulted several senior ENT specialists, but unfortunately, I have not experienced significant improvement.
I continue to have episodes of severe spinning (vertigo) along with vomiting. Sometimes the attacks are triggered by salty foods, but at other times they also occur after eating foods such as halwa, fruits, or sprouts, making it difficult to identify the exact trigger.
These recurrent episodes are affecting my daily routine and quality of life, and I am finding it very difficult to manage.
Could you please suggest the best treatment options or any further evaluation that you would recommend for Ménière's disease?
Thank you.
Vestibular rehabilitation exercise will help.
Tablet vertin 16 mg three times a day.
Low salt diet.
If not controlled intratympanic steroid will be required

Meniere's is difficult but manageable. The key is strict low-salt diet under 1500mg sodium per day â even small amounts of hidden salt in processed foods trigger attacks. Betahistine (Vertin) needs to be taken consistently at adequate dose (16-24mg three times daily). If ENT medicines aren't working, intratympanic steroid or gentamicin injection into the ear is the next step for uncontrolled cases.
Next Steps
Strictly follow a low-sodium diet and keep a food and symptom diary to track all triggers. Ask your ENT about intratympanic steroid injections if oral treatment is failing. Vestibular rehabilitation physiotherapy helps between attacks. Consult me on Practo for more guidance on Meniere's management.
Menieres disease usually presents with giddiness, noise in ear and hearing loss..ear blocked sensation that worsens with the episode. Sometimes Vestibular Migraine also have similar symptoms. Have you had headaches, difficulty with bright light or loud sounds, motion sickness?
Next Steps
need a complete VNG, Ecochg.
