Medicine usage
Hello I just got manual scaling done by a dentist. He prescribed me hexidine mouthwash and metrohex plus gel to be used twice a day. My question is: How long should be the gap between hexidine mouthwash and metrohex gel? And how long do I have to leave metrohex gel on my gums before rinsing with water? Please respond. Thankyou

The specific timing and usage of prescribed dental products can vary based on individual cases and the dentist's recommendations. However, I can provide some general guidelines that you might find helpful: Hexidine Mouthwash: Hexidine mouthwash (also known as chlorhexidine) is often used to control bacterial growth in the mouth. Typically, you should use it as directed by your dentist, usually once or twice a day after brushing and flossing. It's recommended to rinse with the mouthwash for about 30 seconds to a minute and then spit it out. Avoid eating or drinking immediately after using the mouthwash to allow its effects to work. Metrohex Plus Gel: Metrohex Plus gel is often used for gum inflammation and to promote healing after dental procedures. The specific instructions for usage can vary, but generally, you should apply a small amount of the gel directly to the affected gum areas using a clean fingertip or cotton swab. You should follow your dentist's advice on how often to use it (often it's twice a day). The gel is usually left on the gums and not rinsed off immediately. It's best to avoid eating, drinking, or rinsing your mouth for about 30 minutes after applying the gel to allow it to have an effect. Keep in mind that these are general guidelines, and your dentist's specific instructions should be followed for the best results. If you're uncertain about the timing or usage of the products, it's always a good idea to reach out to your dentist's office for clarification. They can provide you with clear instructions based on your individual treatment plan and needs. Additionally, if you experience any unusual side effects, discomfort, or allergic reactions while using these products, be sure to contact your dentist or dental professional for further guidance.

Apply the gel on the gums, leave it for 15-20 minutes. After that rinse with normal water. Better not to swallow. Keep a gap of 45-60 minutes while applying both gel and mouthwash.

Hi, Use the mouthwash and then wait for 20 minutes and then apply the gel. After gel application wait for 20 to 30 minutes again before eating or drinking.
