Meibomian gland dysfunction can be quite commonly seen if you are wearing contact lenses and usually older age group. If not treated it can be permanent . Initial treatment is hot compress and lid wipes followed by drops and ointment . Omega 3 FA tablets are also effective . More advanced treatment is available too at the clinics such as Lipiflow and Ilux. Kindly consult your dr at the clinic to check your TBUT tear break up time regularly.

It is curable... It will take some time depending upon severity. At this age I don't think you will have any major symptoms. So please follow what your consulted doctor have advised and be in follow up to access the progress.
Hello ,
Meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD) is a condition whose symptoms are highly variable. Many adults have it but don't feel any problem , while many have a mild MGD and may be symptomatic. U need to remember that it is 100%treable , but there is nothing like a 'cure' for it. And you don't need one. Depending on severity of MGD , u might have been prescribed drops , tablets , ointments , warm compresses or eye pads . Maintain a proper follow up to see if it's getting better and by how much.
