Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Prolapsed lumbar disc takes up to 3 months to get better. In this time it is important to keep yourself active. Take painkillers as needed, keep mobile and active and use hot fomentation/hot water bottle on back. It is important not to strain your back now. Avoid bending from back to lift anything. Avoid all stress on your lower back. Pain will gradually improve. If the pain gets worse or get more numbness or weakness in leg then see a Spinal Surgeon for assessment. Hope this helps.
