For the next few weeks, strict activity modification is most important: avoid bending forward, twisting, jumping, running, gym workouts, and sitting for long periods. Use a firm mattress, sleep on your side with a pillow between the knees or on your back with a pillow under the knees, and limit screen time in sitting. Short-term pain-relief and anti-inflammatory medicines (only as prescribed by a doctor) can help calm the nerve irritation. Most disc-related leg pain in young people settles gradually over 6â8 weeks with rest and posture care alone.
