Lumbar Fusion
Hi  greetings this consultation is for my mother 44 yrs old and for the past few years (12 to 15yrs) she is experiencing pain in lower back and legs eventhough she does her work regularly. Consulted various doctors and one of the doctors said that there might be nerve compression spondylolisthesis (attached X ray) and he suggested us to go for spine infusion though it is a minimal invasion procedure considering the age and feedback from the people who has already undergone spine infusion is it compulsory to do the surgery or there is any other treatments for the same. Planning to do MRI for the same. Please doctor help me with the further process regarding the same thanks. Regards, Vinith.

Hi Vinith - no Xray is visible. Will need to assess two things - present status in terms of nerve compression and it’s relation to actual clinical symptomatology; and instability or likelihood of worsening of the whole picture. There is no single formula to answer whether surgery is necessary or not. At present need further information and imaging
Next Steps
MRI LS spine and Xray LS Spine lateral views in Flexion/Extension And consult with images
Health Tips
At 44 she is quite young and might respond wonderfully to treatment if given well in time. Nothing emergent - but do not neglect

Sir, there are multiple options available for the same but it totally depends on the condition of the patient. If the pain is too much and lower limb pain is too much then she should get operated. There are multiple options for it like Minimal Invasive spine surgery, Open spine surgery.
Next Steps
get MRI LS Spine with whole spine screening.
Health Tips
operate only if symptoms are more. Pain will definitely reduce after operation. Walking distance will definately reduce.
