better go for an urgent MRI , and also please be clear to your neurologist/ neurosurgeon / spine surgeon about the loss of sensations, pain and temperature / any other kind of weakness / lethargy accompanied by the pain.
Next Steps
Seek an immediate spine consultation and go for an MRI. CONSIDER IT AS IMPORTANT AS BREATHING
Health Tips
DON'T be ANXIOUS / FEAR ANYTHING. IT COULD BE JUST LIGAMENTAL SWELLING / TB/ TUMOUR .Just have faith in your consultant. BE POSITIVE AND STAY HEALTHY.

Pain in the lower back for more than 2 yrs along with swelling for past 5 days should be investigated. Pls contact a Spine Specialist. After clinical examination the doctor will ask for X rays.Important to rule out infections like TB in a long standing back pain.
