Lower back pain & footdro
Dear sir, Recently I encountered with lower back pain with minor foot drop due L5S1 disk herniation. I am currently undergoing treatment with ortho-Spine surgeon,. Please suggest if I must consult with neurologist for second opinion. Also suggest if homeopathy is good option for sciatica pain. Thanks

Hello, Sorry to hear this. Couple of things- L5S1 is an uncommon cause of foot drop. The most common level affected is L45. Since you are interested in a second opinion, see a neurosurgeon instead of a neurologist. Foot drop due to a disk herniation is best treated with surgery where the pressure on the nerve is immediately relieved. Prolonged compression can either lead to a worsening foot drop or irreversible foot drop. Please discuss these issues with your surgeon clearly. I am not aware of any proven homeopathic treatment for sciatica since sciatica is a problem because of compression. Best wishes.
