Post-dengue diarrhea is common during recovery phase. Weakness is expected after dengue. Continue ORS for hydration. For loose motions, can add Loperamide or probiotics. If not improving in 2-3 days or develops severe symptoms, see doctor for stool tests.
Next Steps
Continue ORS frequently Add probiotic like Econorm sachets Consider Loperamide if severe diarrhea Eat bland diet - bananas, rice, toast Monitor platelet count once more Rest adequately
Health Tips
Post-dengue recovery takes 1-2 weeks. Diarrhea and weakness are normal. If blood in stool, high fever, or severe abdominal pain develop, seek immediate care. Stay hydrated.

since the patient has been advised to be taken home, it most likely indicates that the Platelet count is increasing, usually when this happens in a dengue patient, it lovely suggests that the patient is improving and there is nothing to be afraid as of now. considering dengue, there is no curative medicine for the disease and is only treated by symptomatically managing the conditions.
Next Steps
1. hydration of the patient is very important and advised to drink plenty of oral fluids 2. for loose motion T. RACECADOTRIL 100MG 1-1-1 feel free to reach out for any further clarification

Continue giving ORS often. For loose motions: Racecadotril (Racigyl/Hidrasec) 100 mg – 1 capsule three times daily before food. Sporolac tablets thrice a day. Give light food and zinc 20 mg once daily. If motions are severe or she feels very weak consult a doctor.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern. After dengue recovery, it is quite common to feel severe weakness, body ache, and occasional loose motions, as the intestines and liver remain sensitive for a few days even after the virus clears. This post-viral phase can last a week or more. ✅ Advices Continue giving ORS after every loose stool to prevent dehydration. Give soft, light diet — rice, dal, banana, curd, khichdi, coconut water. Avoid milk, spicy or oily food for 3 to 4 days. What to Monitor Frequency of loose motions and urine output. Any signs of dizziness, vomiting, or persistent fever. Management You may give Racecadotril 100 mg capsule twice daily (after meals) for 2 to 3 days to control loose motions, provided there is no vomiting or severe abdominal pain. Continue ORS and rest. A vitamin B-complex or energy supplement like Electral or Glucon-D can help with recovery. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately If loose motions persist beyond 3 days or worsen. If there is vomiting, severe weakness, or inability to eat or drink. If fever or abdominal pain returns. Every patient’s recovery pace after dengue varies. For accurate recovery guidance and medicine adjustments, it’s best to discuss her full report and current symptoms in detail. 👉 You can reach out to me directly for this case, and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation, where you’ll receive: A personalized recovery plan Safe medicine guidance Quick follow-ups to track improvement Take care, wishing your wife a smooth and full recovery. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician

Hello, I’m Dr. Pradeep Dahiya. Post-dengue weakness and mild loose motions are quite common after recovery — the gut remains sensitive due to dehydration and viral inflammation. It usually settles in a few days with proper hydration and light diet. You’re doing right by giving ORS. You can start a probiotic like Vizylac capsule once daily for 3–5 days. If motions are frequent or watery, Racecadotril 100 mg TDS (or 1 cap after every loose stool) helps control it safely. Avoid antibiotics unless fever returns or stool becomes mucusy or bloody. I can help you plan a complete post-dengue recovery regimen — including diet, hydration balance, and supplements to rebuild platelets and energy faster. Let’s connect once for a personalized recovery plan.” Contact : eight nine thirty 7192
