Lingering cough and mucus formation
My 6 year old son took 5 days antibiotics course due to ear pain and cough and chest sound but he did not have high fever that time. Its been 11-12 days now after antibiotics, he is still producing cough and mucus from nose. I am scared what is happening and why it is not resolving?

Cough takes time to resolve. If cough is associated with rapid breathing, persistent vomiting, interfering with his daily activities consult your paediatrician for direct examination. Meanwhile you can give him honey and few home remedies.

Greetings It is completely normal to feel worried when your child's symptoms last this long. A lingering cough and mucus can persist for three to six weeks due to residual airway inflammation. This is common, but it can also be a new viral infection or allergy. Watch closely for red flags like difficulty breathing, chest retractions, or a new fever.
