Lichen planus pigmentosus skin. Help?

I'm unmarried 27 year old diagnosed with Lichen planus on skin for two years. Now Im really depressed coz there hasn't been any improvement after 1+ years of treatment . it's on my face , body , underarm, neck and hands. My face has become very dark and my arms have too many dark patches which is increasing constantly.  I've undergone UV treatment , tacrolimus cream , steroid creams and lightening agent creams. Now my doctor has suggested zempred 4 mg , two tablets each on Sundays and Saturdays for one month. Have attached screenshot of both my arms. 1. My doubt is after I take this steroid for one month will there be too many side effects. I'm already low on vitamin d (only 8) after the Vit d test. 2. Secondly since it's an auto-immune disease will ayurvedic medicine help ? Since ayurvedic med helps in cleaning gut. Kindly help.
