I have been diagnosed with Chrondomalacia Patella grade 2 and left meniscus injury grade 2. My job involves me climbing stairs and walking up and down as I am a teacher and there is no lift at my workplace. There is severe pain and I am limping. Will my condition worsen if I continue to do my job? Do I have to take leave from work? If yes? How many days? Will I have to quit my job.

Rest , lifestyle modification , ice packing , physiotherapy , painkiller medicine 💊, knee bracing , if weight is more than weight management , if pain not relieved by painkiller medicine you can go for hyaluronic acid injection , if all off the above not worked than go for surgery

Hi
Both of your knee conditions : the Chondromalacia and the meniscus injury will aggravate on climbing stairs
So my advice would be to :
1)avoid stairs
2) use a hinge knee brace
3) physiotherapy consultation
Please try this out for 1 month
If not resolved after a month better to go for some intervention
Thanks
The grade of Chondromalacia patellae , you have mentioned is early stage as well as the meniscus injury looks to be more of a sprain
I think you should do physiotherapy, and you should improve with that. Avoid climbing stairs of squatting on the floor.
Your last two questions depends on your examination findings and how you respond to the Physiotherapy 90% of people improve with the same
