Hello! Considering you are young, these would be your options.
Option 1: if it’s fully erupted and in occlusion with opposing tooth, has sufficient tooth structure with good prognosis - Root canal Treatment
Option 2: If it’s impacted/ partially erupted, if it’s opposing molar isn’t present for occlusion, then extraction.
Wisdom tooth is the most notorious tooth in our jaw. Due to its alignment which can harm adjacent tooth or cause food accumulation or soft tissue injury; extraction is often suggested as a preventive approach than therapeutic reasons.
Post radiographic examination, your Dentist can suggest you best possible option.
We need to get an OPG xray to check position of the tooth. If not positioned properly it’s better to get them extracted than to go for RCT of wisdom teeth.
Hello.
Impacted last molars should be extracted as they may cause pain, swelling and TMG discomfort in the future.
Partially impacted or erupting teeth may also cause pericoronitis (severe pain and inflammation of the gums in that region)
You are required to take an OPG (full mouth x-ray) which will show the exact position and condition of the tooth.
Exaction at the earliest is advised.
Please consult an oral surgeon regarding extraction planning of the tooth.
Maintain proper oral hygiene. Brush twice daily using the correct brushing technique. Use a floss. Rinse after every meal. Maintain proper tongue hygiene.
