Knock knees
Hello doctor my son 4years old now. Iam used vit d3 drops till one year of his age but iam observe he have knock knees. He is very active and healthy. Present he have no problem with knock knees. It is cure when he grow. How to cure them doctor.pls give ur suggestion.

Knock knees can often by normal( physiological) at 4 years of age. In most cases it should become normal by 7-8 years of age. However a clinical examination should be done to look for other signs of rickets (vitamin D deficiency). If no other signs of rickets is there in the body only observation would work. If signs of rickets (vitamin d deficiency) is there in the body blood work up has to be done.
Next Steps
Observe to see if the deformity resolves on it’s own by 7 years of age. If it doesn’t visit an orthopaedic surgeon to see the magnitude of deformity and manage accordingly.
Health Tips
If other signs of rickets (vitamin d3 deficiency) present in the body -Get a baseline serum calcium, ALP and Phosphate done. Get a baseline vitamin D3 levels done along with a kidney function tests.

Many times with growing age, knock knee problem gets solved.. wait till 7 years ofa ge and see progression at 7 year
