Knee injury
Hi, i had twisted my knee playing football 8 months back and had a sensation something was out of place and was back again at inner side of knee(not inside but at inner side) . Swelling was there and it was gone after 4-5 days. I took rest and started hamstring and quad exercise and able to run without any problem in 1 month. I took precaution and got back to football only after 6 months. Then the same thing happened and symptoms were same. I had an acl reconstruction done 5 years back. So i did an MRI. In report it is written, there is hypertension at T2 possibly ganglion cyst at graft end of acl. Partial meniscus tear and grade 2 degeneration of meniscus. Please suggest future course of action as i would like to return to an active life. During this 8 months i have no issues with running but during pivoting and cutting, it feels same problem will happen again. Full range of motion is present at knee.

• Avoid sitting Cross legged. • Avoid Squatting- • Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. • Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. • Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. • Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area • Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). • Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.
