Its better to wear goggles in sunlight as few studies have shown that UV radiation present in sunlight accelerate keratoconus progression.
Moreover wearing sunglasses protect the eye from allergens present in environment

Keratoconus can't increase directly because of sunlight exposure. But related rubbing of eyes can induce increase the keratoconus
