These condition are called temporomandibular disorders. Treatment of these conditions should be done step by step, first conservatively and if required surgery. Proper examination has to be done as at what point of opening clicking sound is heard. Accordingly grading will be done. Various conservative treatment like arthrocentesis can be done. Splints can be used. Surgically plication of the disc ligament or other tmj procedure can be done. Surgery should be the last option. Give rest to the joint and visit oral and maxillofacial surgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment. In recent advanced surgery can be done endoscopically which r lessinvasive.
