You should take Inj Tetanus because it is quite possible that the rat might not have taken a bath in clean water before it bit you. So wound contamination is a possibility.

Yes their is a need to take tt as the rats live on soil which is polluted and infectious theirs a chance they may be harbouring bacteria in their mouth.
