Root canal treatment is done primarily for tooth decay
Periodontal surgery is done for improving the supporting structure of the tooth.

because periodontitis has wide range of causes ranging from smoking to diabetes to bad oral hygiene but flap surgeries are last resort. thatz y

Once periodontitis has happened surgery is the only solution. Then home maintainence with twice a day brushing, flossing and mouthwash and regular scaling and polishing is required to maintain the teeth

The causes are many, generally not getting scaling done regularly may result in plaque and tartar formation leading to gum disease. Genetics plays a role also

There must be bone loss or other symptom of periodontitis....surgery is recommended only when there is moderate or severe periodontal problem.... should visit periodontist they are specialist in perio Problem
