Kindly note that I want to give Brahmi for general brain wellbeing and development to my daughter who is 5 yrs old. Is it safe to give and what should be the dosage?For how long can I give it?

Yes its safe as a brain tonic in several growth aids overall.
If tablet half a tablet not exceeding 100gms with lukewarm water once a day in the morning after breakfast
If powder half a spoon 5gms with honey or warm milk once a day in the morning after breakfast
If like a leha 3/4th spoon in evening on empty stomach
