Irregular Periods- Late by 14days
I am facing irregularities of my periods since last 6months. This time it's late by 14days. I did home pregnancy test twice and result is negative. Please do let me know if I need to visit Gynac or its just because of hormones. As i am overweight. Please suggest.

Hi Yes you have to certainly meet a gynaecologist and discuss your problem with her .. Various reasons for late periods could be due hormonal imbalances, PCOD/ PCOD , stress, pregnancy, obesity (or) overweight , may be thyroid issues etc...

Well balanced diet, small portioned size meals more frequently, high fibre diet, low GI foods less than 55, complex carbs, moderate high biological value plant based proteins, low fat dairy, consume dry fruits, nuts, seeds, germinated and fermented products, probiotic and prebiotic foods, alkaline foods, all seasonal locally grown fruits and vegetables, dark green leafy vegetables, millets, buttermilk, 1 tsp ghee in dal daily for lunch, curd at lunch.. Diet and lifestyle both go hand in hand... So proper dietary management and lifestyle modifications are key to loosing excess weight... Have lukewarm lemon water on empty stomach upon waking followed by a 45 mins brisk walk is recommended daily on all the days of the week.. Maintain healthy meal gaps between meal to meal...and high fibre diet.. Note : daily exposure to sun, drinking more water around 2 to 3 litres per day, good sleep and rest, physical activities like household chores, exercises both morning and evening are necessary and highly beneficial in management of overweight and overall physical fitness leading to healthy body and mind. Some Don’ts : No to outside foods,No fasting and feasting, No binge eating, No to processed and packaged foods, fast foodstuffs, junk foods, trans fats, hydrogenated oils, reduced saturated foods, No to white, refined and polished cereals and pulses, No to roots and tubers, No to deep fried and deep roasted foods, No to outside eating , No to starchy foods and Whole milk or cream milk with high fat percent etc...all these are essential and mandatory to follow in order to lose excess weight..

Hi, Obesity is the primary reason of irregular menses. Losing fat is integral for curing this problem. Here are a few tips that will help you:- Exercise 40-45 minutes 4-5 times a week. Eat small frequent meals every 2 -3 hours Have whole grain cereals like millets and pulses Eat protein rich diet egg whites,Sprouts (especially post workout, it will help in building muscle) and improve metabolism. Eat proper breakfast, as 40% of day’s energy comes from breakfast. Include healthy fat in your diet like nuts - almonds and walnuts, seeds like pumpkin, watermelon, sunflower seeds, etc. Eat fiber rich diet, it will help to gain early satiety and help you feel full - include fruits and vegetables in your diet Avoid junk food, oily food, processed or canned foods. Drink a glass of water every hour daily to optimally hydrate the body.

Hi Irregular periods can be caused by many reasons, for example, overweight, stress, or even medical conditions like PCOD, etc so it is better to visit a gynecologist & know the exact root cause of it!
