Thank you for sharing the details. Based on the provided information --- Age: 30 years Symptoms: Irregular periods for 9 days, history of PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) PCOD & High AMH: A high AMH level supports the diagnosis of PCOD, which is often associated with delayed or irregular periods. In PCOD, the ovaries have many small follicles, but they don't mature and ovulate properly, leading to hormonal imbalances and irregular cycles. TSH Borderline High: A TSH of 4.57 might indicate subclinical hypothyroidism. Even a slight thyroid imbalance can affect your periods and ovulation. It’s worth checking thyroid antibodies (like TPO-Ab) to rule out autoimmune thyroiditis. Prolactin Normal: Good news. High prolactin can cause irregular periods, but yours is in the normal range. 📌 Why Your Periods Are Irregular: PCOD (main reason): Hormonal imbalance leads to anovulation (no egg release), resulting in irregular periods. Thyroid Dysfunction (possible contributing factor): Even mildly elevated TSH can interfere with the menstrual cycle.
Next Steps
1. Ultrasound Pelvis: To check ovarian morphology (if not already done). 2. TSH Repeat + TPO Antibody: To evaluate if thyroid support medication is needed. 3. Lifestyle Modification: Weight management, regular exercise, low-glycemic diet – very important in PCOD. Avoid sugar, processed carbs. 4. Medications OCPs (oral contraceptive pills) may regulate periods. Myo-inositol supplements may improve ovulation in PCOD. If TSH stays above 4.5 and symptoms persist, thyroid medication may be recommended
Health Tips
💬 Final Reassurance: You are not alone – PCOD is very common. With regular follow-up and proper management, your cycles can be regulated, and any fertility concerns can also be addressed early. Would you like me to help further?? Consult me

Dear Practo User. Thanks for sending across your query. Irregular periods with PCOD are due to hormonal imbalance, including high AMH and borderline TSH. Your thyroid and prolactin are normal, but PCOD affects ovulation. Lifestyle changes and doctor-prescribed hormonal therapy can help regulate periods. Don't worry—it's manageable.
