Hello
Please follow exclusive breast feeding till 6 months
After that you can start complementary feeding
For 6 month old you can start with mashed rice and vegetables 1/2 cup twice a day and increase gradually
Avoid cow milk until 2 years of age
Next Steps
Avoid formula milk as far as possible
Prefer home food rather than ready made packaged food
Health Tips
Maintain hygiene
Wash hands before and after feeding
No tv/mobile exposure while feeding
Normally exclusive breast feeding till 6 mnths of age . Give solids once daily . From next mnth u can increase twice per day . U shld increase gradually not suddenly . Start with one spoon day 1 if baby accepting increase to 2 tsps (fruit puree …,.)
Recommendations by WHO and IAP are to start complementary feeds after 6 months of age. Make use of the time of another month for exclusive breastfeeding.
Since you have introduced cerelac rice presently, I will advise to keep it only once a day for the month. Can go to twice daily next month on
Next Steps
Semisolids are started to increase calories from the diet. Breastfeed is sufficient to take care of the needs till 6 months of age.
Health Tips
There is no hurry to build on complementary feeds if the baby’s weight gain is good
