Just Taking sleep medication is not the solution for insomnia
Insomnia could be symptom of depression, anxiety, substance withdrawal or excessive intake of nicotine or coffee , sleep apnea etc
First Please consult a psychiatrist for further evaluation and treatment of other causes and insomnia will improves but it self
Second please practice sleep Hygiene methods to improve your sleep
Third , medication you are taking are benzodiazepines which should not be taken for long as they could cause rebound insomnia ( insomnia on stopping the drug)
Next Steps
Please consult a psychiatrist for change of medication & know about sleep hygiene
